The Road To Wellville

116 minutes 1994 5.9

The Lightbody couple arrive at the Battle Creek sanatorium in the summer of 1907. Together they hope to be able to cleanse body and soul of both illnesses and troubling memories after a tragedy. They submit to the amazing health guru Doctor Kellogg's unconventional methods, to say the least.

Dr. John Harvey Kellogg is not just the creator of Corn Flakes. He is also a passionate health guru. At the beginning of the 19th century, Kellogg opens a spa where the wealthy can get in shape, change their dietary habits, be cleansed internally and cured of more or less imaginary diseases and blemishes.

Kellogg's methods are unconventional and border on torture, but the patients love it. He is militant in his demeanor, obsessed with all the functions of the body, total vegetarian, health preacher, claims to be celibate, inventor of incredible cures and new food products and famous throughout the United States as a genius - or completely crazy.
