The Quiet American

96 minutes 2002 7.0

Saigon, Vietnam - 1952. Ho Chi Minh's army grows larger and larger, and unrest spreads across Indochina. The older British reporter Thomas Fowler covers the armed conflicts in the region, where the United States is becoming increasingly involved in the conflict to protect its interests. Fowler befriended Alden Pyle, a young American physician who works for a community-based medical community. The friendship encounters complications when hidden motives are revealed, and their feelings for a beautiful Vietnamese woman threaten to destroy the friendship completely.
