The multiple Oscar-winning comedy drama Driving Miss Daisy from 1989 is an adaptation of Alfred Uhrys play.

Stubborn old Jewish widow Miss Daisy lives a quiet and peaceful life, and opposes any change. Her son Boolie insists that she needs a driver and employes the humble Hoke, played by Morgan Freeman. Daisy accepts the new employee under protests, but during their trips in the car a deep friendship starts to grow.
