Friday film // Week 41

A movie for the senses.

Some filmmakers master the rare ability to make a film awaken the senses. This week's Friday film is one you can almost feel, smell, and taste.

Friday movie: Pot-au-feu

We find ourselves in France, the year is 1885. Eugénie has worked for the restaurant owner Dodin for 20 years, and they have created fabulous dishes of exquisite quality. When they work together in the kitchen, a nearly seamless machinery is set in motion that creates magic.

The French film veterans Juliette Binoche (Bleu, A Thousand Times Good Night) and Benoît Magimel (Special Forces, No Chains, No Masters) are the perfect dream team in this culinary adventure of a film. From the very first second, the viewer is drawn into the rhythm of cooking; in the steam from a boiling pot, in the filleting of a fish, and in the chopping of a fragrant onion.

If you love French cuisine, this is perfect for you!

IMDB-score: 7.4
