Fridayfilm // week 42
A movie that takes you back to nature.
This week's Friday film takes us back to the 1930s, to the french countryside. The movie is a beautiful story about people, life and the connections between us and nature.
Friday film: School of Life
Orphaned Paul is picked up at a Paris orphanage by Célestine to live with her and her husband Borel in the countryside near a large estate.
The estate is the property of the honourable count Fresnayes. He tolerates poachers, but Borel hunts them, especially the elusive and cunning Totoche.
One day Paul encounters the mysterious Totoche, a friendship is struck between them, and Paul is let in on the secrets of the wild forrest. He learns foraging for mushrooms, fishing and hunting, and eventually discovers that it is more than a coincidence that he has ended up here. Francois Cluzet (The Untouchables) plays the poacher Totoche.
