Former CIA agent Bryan Mills gets the shock of his life when he gets in touch on the phone with his 17-year-old daughter Kim, who is on holiday with a friend in Paris, when someone breaks into their hotel room. The girls are being kidnapped while Bryan is completely helpless on another continent.

Bryan puts in his entire arsenal of effective and deadly skills and takes up the fight to find Kim and her girlfriend. The kidnappers will be punished and he expects to have 96 hours to find them before they will be gone forever. A relentless race with time is underway, and there is no room for grace.
