All we can do is love life.
This Friday, there is a modest, warm, and seemingly trivial film in the player. But in the ordinary lies the spectacular, and director Kôji Fukada is a master at highlighting the very smallest details. Those that tell so much about the characters, and thus about life itself. But the finest little moments contains both joy and sorrow.
Taeko and Jiro spend quiet days together with Taeko's son in an apartment building in a Japanese city. They live together and work together, and achieve a harmonious whole in the rhythm of daily life.
But then something happens that turns their lives upside down, and brings the boy's father back into Taeko's life.
The movie was nominated for several awards and has an IMDb score of 6.9.
