People say that there is a curse on 12-year-old Ahlo and he decides to do everything he can to prove them wrong. But that is easier said than done.
Friday film: The Rocket
In this week's Friday film we travel through a fascinating and beautiful country that has been destroyed by years of war and corruption. Changes are about to happen, and when an enormous dam is being built nearby, Ahlo and his family are forced to move.
It is rumoured that Ahlo has a curse upon him, but he is determined to quench those rumours. When his family stumbles upon a rocket-competition he decides to try and win it, to prove that he can bring about positive things.
The movie is an adventure, and has won many awards. It is suited for both children and grown-ups, and it is easy to see why the film was Australia's official Oscar-submission in 2014.
