Friday film // week 9

A little adventurer.

The local circus can no longer provide a home for the little donkey, and the girl who trains him is heartbroken when he leaves. But, with changes comes new opportunities! This week's Friday film lets us see Europe from a very different perspective. 

Friday film: EO

EO is a an epic journey from humble beginnings and into the wide world. Eo the donkey can no longer stay at the circus, and must go to a local farm. But freedom calls, and he escapes to travel modern Europe. 

The movements of the camera, lighting, sound effects and the perspective, create the illusion that we as viewers are the donkey's travel companion, and it is not hard feeling both sympathetic and becoming fond of Eo. Once you have seen the world through the eyes of the donkey, you will never be the same. 

The film was nominated for an Oscar as Best International Feature Film, and has won several awards, including for the film music.
