31 October, 1977. Johnny Carson's rival Jack Delroy is the host for the talkshow "Night Owls", a faithful friend for the sleepless viewers. One year after the tragic death of Jack's wife, the ratings have plummeted. In a desperate attempt to regain viewers, Jack plans a unique Halloween-special, unknowing that he is about to unleash evil into American homes.
