Life could have been so different.

This week's Friday film: Past Lives
Nora and Hae-Sung are childhood friends, but separated when Nora's family decides to emigrate from South Korea to USA. They contact each other sporadically over the next years before deciding to meet 20 years later, in New York.
How has their lives been, and what happened to the their close connection? Can emotional ties from the past draw them away from their new lives and back to what they had? "When you leave something, you find something else", but what if you should never have left, and you long for the past? The film poses good questions about distance, relationships and the way the past affects who we become.
Past Lives was hyped for the Oscars, and is a strong, low-keyed and beautiful film.
Watch it here.
